Free a license seat

A key belongs to one installation; after a reinstall or a move, the old installation keeps the seat until you release it.

In short. Each key has a number of seats (one for a trial, and usually one per license). An installation that activates takes a seat. If an old installation still holds it, the new one shows "every seat on this key is taken".

First, restart #

Often, the seat is held by the same machine: on a panel, the bootstrap activated before the application. A simple restart is enough: the installation takes back the same identity.

Release the old seat from Agora #

If the message persists after a restart:

  1. Open Administration → Agora, License block.
  2. Under the error message, click Release the old seat and retry.
  3. The message "Seat released: license activated." confirms it.

No restart needed. Taking over a seat is reserved to the installation owner: for any other administrator, the button is greyed out. Only do this if you are sure the old installation is no longer in service: it will lose its license.

On a panel, after a reinstall #

A reinstall from the panel wipes the installation identity. For the new one to take over the seat:

  1. Set the Reprendre le siege variable (AGORA_TRANSFER) to 1.
  2. Start the server.
  3. Set the variable back to 0.

If that is not enough #

If the seat is held by another machine you no longer control, open a ticket on the support Discord: the team can detach the old installation. See Open a ticket.

See which installations hold your key #

In your space: My account → My licences → Details. The Installations list shows the host, version and last activity of each one.
