Activate or change your license key

The key is read in your customer space, set on the first start, and later replaced in Administration → Agora without touching the server.

In short. Your key looks like AGORA-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. It is required from the very first start (it unlocks the download). Afterwards, you can replace it from the admin area.

Find your key #

The key is never sent by direct message. You read it in your space:

  1. Sign in to agorapanel.com with Discord.
  2. My account → My licences → Show key.
  3. The site asks you to verify your session: a code is emailed to your confirmed address (or you use the code from your authenticator app, if you have one). Once the code is accepted, you come back to the page: click Show key again.

No confirmed address? The site first sends you to the email page to confirm it.

Every display is logged. Never share your key.

On the first start #

  • Docker (install.sh): the key passed to the command is written into /opt/agora/.env (AGORA_KEY).
  • Manual compose file: AGORA_LICENSE_KEY in .env.
  • Panel: the egg's Cle de licence variable. The egg downloaded from your space already contains it.

Replace the key (going paid, new license) #

  1. Open Administration → Agora, License block.
  2. Paste the new key into License key.
  3. Click Activate.

Only the owner of the installation (the Owner badge in Administration → Members) can attach the installation to another key: for any other administrator, the field and the Activate button are greyed out, with a "?" saying "reserved to the owner". Pasting a signed token and Check now stay open to any administrator, for repairs.

The state and plan show right away. If the old key is still in your environment variable (AGORA_KEY or AGORA_LICENSE_KEY), replace it too, so that a restart does not bring it back.

Check #

  • State: "Active", "Trial" or "Grace period".
  • Plan: Basic, Pro or Trial.
  • Last successful check: a recent date.
  • No Last error.

The Check now button runs a new check with the license server. Otherwise, a check happens every 6 hours.

The signed token (advanced) #

The Signed token (advanced) field accepts an AGL1.… token that support may give you (for example a lease issued offline). Paste it, then Apply token. It is verified locally.

What is sent to the license server #

Installation ID, fingerprint, host, version, platform and language. Never a local IP, member data or a secret.
