Where to find an error's reference code

The "This page could not be displayed" screen gives a reference code; panel errors carry a "ref."; the administrator finds them in Administration → Errors and the logs.

On this page
  1. For a member: the error screen
  2. For an administrator: find the error
  3. Panel and network errors: "ref."
  4. License errors: "code: …"
  5. Update errors: "code …"
  6. What to send to support

In short. Agora never shows an error's raw text on screen (it could reveal a host or a database name). Instead, it gives a reference code that lets you find the full error.

For a member: the error screen #

When a page cannot be displayed, the screen says "This page could not be displayed" and, below it, Reference code: ….

  1. Copy that code as is.
  2. Note the time and what you were doing.
  3. Pass them on to your server's staff.

If the screen says "Agora was just updated" instead, there is no error: simply reload the page.

For an administrator: find the error #

  1. Administration → Errors.
  2. Filter on Period and Source (Browser or Server).
  3. Open the matching error: the reference code shows in the occurrence's Context, with the stack trace, what happened just before and the member involved.

See Errors and error reports.

Panel and network errors: "ref." #

In Server → Console (or Server → Panel), a message may end with a pointer to the Agora server log (ref. …). The detail is in Agora's logs, on the [panel] … (réf. …) line (logs are written in French) that carries the same reference:

  • Docker: docker logs agora;
  • panel: the console of the server hosting Agora.

License errors: "code: …" #

"unexpected answer from the license server (code: …)": give that code to support as is.

Update errors: "code …" #

"the update could not complete (code …)": try again; if it keeps happening, give this code to support. See Failed update.

What to send to support #

The code, the time, the Agora version and the exact message. See Open a ticket.

The fastest for an Agora error: in Administration → Errors, open the error and click Report to Agora. The private ticket opens already filled in, with the error, its context, the version, the panel and a support ID, with nothing to copy by hand. See Report an error to Agora.
