In short. Markers (the game's "blips") are your server's fixed places: shops, garages, dealerships, city hall… Agora can find them and place them on the live map. Nothing is displayed by default: a capture sometimes brings back hundreds of points, so you choose which ones to show. Administrators only.

Where to set them #

Administration → Configuration → Live map, at the very bottom of the page, Markers (blips) block (below the map background). Each marker is one row: a checkbox to show it on the map, its name (editable), the resource it came from, its sprite (the game's icon number) and its coordinates.

Administration → Configuration → Live map: Markers (blips) block, Import my map's markers button and the empty list before the first import

Where markers come from #

Two origins, kept in two collapsible lists.

Detected automatically. When the agora resource starts, Agora reads the text of the configuration files of a few known resources, never running their code: ox_inventory (data/shops.lua), qbx_garages, illenium-appearance, qbx_vehicleshop, qbx_customs and qbx_cityhall. Only those that exist on your server are read, once per start. This is best effort: the ox_inventory format is recognised precisely, the others through a looser reading (a coordinate near a sprite or blip field), so less reliable. A resource that is not in this list is not read: use the in-game import. Up to 500 markers are kept per file.

Captured in-game. The Import my map's markers button asks your game client, and only yours, to list the markers your map displays, then sends them once to Agora (2,000 at most). For it to be active:

  1. your site account must be linked to your game (Link your game);
  2. you must be connected to the game server when you click. Otherwise the button is greyed out with "Sign into the game server (linked Discord account) to import your markers".

The request travels with the resource's next presence heartbeat, so it takes a few seconds. The screen shows no confirmation: reload the page, the captured markers appear under Captured in-game.

Running an import again, or restarting, updates the markers already known (same position, to the metre) instead of duplicating them, and keeps your display choice.

Choose what is displayed #

  • Tick a row's checkbox: the marker appears on the map; untick it to remove it. Each checkbox saves by itself.
  • The name is edited in place (120 characters at most) and saved when you leave the field. A marker with no name in the config gets a default name taken from its sprite, or "Point d'intérêt (sprite N)" if the sprite is not in the table. These default names are in French on every site (« Garage », « Hôpital », « Concession automobile »…): rename the ones you keep.

What players see #

The chosen markers show on the Map page, for everyone who opens it: the staff map and the colleagues map alike. They are generic coloured dots, sorted into a few categories: Agora ships no official game image. Clicking a dot shows its name.

Troubleshooting #

SymptomCause and fix
"No markers imported yet"Nothing was detected or captured: do the in-game import
The import button is greyed outYou are not connected to the game server, or your account is not linked to your game
I clicked Import and nothing changesWait a few seconds and reload the page; check the resource is started and up to date (Troubleshoot the resource)
Ticked markers do not appearReload the map: the list is read when the page opens
A detected marker is misplaced or should not be thereApproximate automatic reading: untick it, or keep only the markers imported in-game
