On this page
In short. A post looks out of line? Report it. Only staff see reports and who sent them.
Report #
- Under another member's post, click Report. For a whole thread, click Report thread under its title.
- Pick a reason: spam or advertising, harassment or insult, inappropriate content, off topic, other.
- Add details if you want (500 characters).
- Click Send report.
You read "Thanks: the staff has received your report".
The rules #
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Who can report | A signed-in member, not suspended, in a section they can read |
| What cannot be reported | Your own content, a post already hidden, an archived thread |
| Duplicates | One open report per person and per content |
| Rate | 5 reports per 10 minutes, 20 per 24 hours |
Then what? #
Staff decide: no action, post hidden, warning, thread archived or suspension. The author of the content is told the decision, never who reported it. You get a notification, "Your report was handled by the staff", when it is done (without the outcome or the reason).
Beware of abuse #
A member who keeps reporting without reason can have their reports blocked for a while. They are told, with the duration and the reason.
