In short. Uninstalling Agora touches neither your game server nor your characters. Take a backup first: once the server or the volumes are deleted, nothing can be recovered. On a panel, Agora's database lives in the server's files: deleting the server deletes it with it, and there is nothing else to clean up on that side.

Before you start #

  • Be an administrator of your Hub for the backup, and the owner of the panel or machine for the removal.
  • Decide what you keep: Agora's data (members, forum, applications) will disappear with the installation. The words (volume, dump, table) are in the glossary.

Steps #

1. Back up #

  1. Administration → Agora → Backups → Download a dump now. The file arrives in your browser: keep it somewhere other than the machine.
  2. Also copy the attachments if you want to keep them (see Backups and restore).

2. Remove the FiveM resource #

  1. In server.cfg, delete the ensure agora line.
  2. Delete the resources/agora folder.
  3. Restart the game server (or type stop agora in its console).

3. Remove Agora #

Docker (install.sh) #

cd /opt/agora
docker compose down # stops, keeps the data
docker compose down -v # stops AND deletes the volumes (database, files, identity)
rm -rf /opt/agora

Pterodactyl / Pelican panel #

  1. Stop the Agora server in the panel, then delete it (in the server's settings, or from the panel's administration).
  2. That is all for the database: the built-in database disappears with the server's files (the .agora/ folder), there is nothing to delete elsewhere. If you had brought your own external PostgreSQL database, delete it at its host if nothing else uses it.

Host's Node.js server #

Stop then delete the server at your host or, if you keep it for something else, delete agora.mjs, agora.env and the data/ folder (Agora's database is inside). <!-- À CONFIRMER : voie Node.js non testée chez un hébergeur ; le dossier data/ contient bien la base portable -->

4. The game database (optional) #

Agora created its own tables, prefixed agora_, in your game server database. They hold the MDT records. They do not get in the way: you can keep them. To remove them, back up the game database first, then drop the agora_* and _Agora* tables with your usual tool (phpMyAdmin, HeidiSQL…).

Also remove the MySQL user created for Agora: with the same tool where you created it, delete the user (in phpMyAdmin, User accounts tab), or run DROP USER 'agora'@'203.0.113.10'; replacing the name and address with yours. See Connect the game server database.

5. License and subscription #

  • Removing the installation does not stop a subscription: turn off renewal in your space (see Subscription and renewal).
  • The key stays valid: you can reuse it on a new installation by releasing the old seat.

6. Discord #

If you no longer use the Discord application, delete it in the developer portal and remove the bot from your server.

You know it worked when… #

  • Your Hub's address no longer answers.
  • The game server starts without the agora resource, with no error in its console.
  • You kept a copy of the dump off the old machine, just in case.

If it does not work #

What you seeWhat to do
The game server shows a startup error about agoraAn ensure agora line is still in server.cfg: delete it
The panel refuses to delete the serverStop it first, then try again
You want to reinstall later with the same keyFree the seat: see Free a license seat
You want your data back afterwardsRestore your dump on a new installation: see Move Agora to another machine

Going further #

  • docker compose down without -v stops Agora but keeps its volumes: a reinstall through install.sh will find the database and the files again.
  • Uninstalling does not delete your agorapanel.com account: to erase your account data, see Erase my data.
