Create an MDT service for a job
A service of its own (mechanic, taxi…) gives a job its own reports, fleet and roster, invisible to other jobs.

In short. Jobs kept in the "Other" service share everything: the mechanic reads the taxi driver's reports. A created service walls a job off: its reports, fleet and employees are only visible to its members.
Create a service #
- MDT → Settings → + New service.
- Fill in:
- the name (e.g. "Mechanic garage", 40 characters at most);
- the colour;
- the service type: Other trade for a mechanic or a taxi, Dealership for a service that sells vehicles. The type grants no rights.
- Create. The service key, which appears in the
/mdt/…address, is derived from the name and never changes. - On its card, + Add a job to put the job in it, then tick its permissions: see Configure the MDT.
What the service shows #
A service only shows the sections opened by the permissions of its jobs and ranks: View citizen files, Look up a plate / a vehicle, Read reports, View the service fleet, View employees, etc. A job without permissions opens nothing.
Prepare the game database for reports #
The first time, reports of created services require widening a column in the game database. Agora never changes your database structure without your consent.
- Under the title of MDT → Settings, click Open the game database preparation (the link stays visible until it is done; the message that replaces a new service's reports points there too). The page is called MDT departments.
- In the Reports of created departments: prepare the game database block, read what the button does (a single command, no report lost).
- Tick the confirmation, then Widen the column.
Agora's MySQL account needs the ALTER right. Take a backup of the game database first.
Until this is done, the service works (citizens, fleet, employees) except its reports.
Move old reports out of "Other" #
Reports written before the service was created stay in Other. On the "Other" service card, Manage → Split this service's reports… (the tool only shows if it still has reports). On the MDT departments page, Move “Other” reports block:
- Tick the authors whose reports should move (a report only keeps its author's RP name, not their job).
- Pick the target service (a created service that has the Reports section).
- Move their reports.
Full details and error messages: Move the “Other” reports to a department.
Delete a service #
Manage → Delete service, with the confirmation box. Only when no job is attached to it and no report or vehicle is stored in it. 30 services at most.
Give management to a role #
A forum role can receive the Manage an MDT department right (Administration → Roles): it then manages employees and leave, like staff. Access to the service itself always comes from the in-game job.
