Installation #

Do I need a FiveM server to use Agora? No. The forum, applications, donations and the Team page work on their own. The MDT, map, HR and dealership need your game server database.

Must Agora run on the same machine as the FiveM server? No. It must reach the game's MySQL database, and be reachable from the game server for the resource.

Do I need a license key from the start? Yes: the key is read on the very first start, it is what unlocks the download. The 14-day trial is a free key. See Free trial.

Do I need a domain name? No. http://IP:PORT is enough to start. HTTPS is recommended as soon as the server leaves testing.

Can I install Agora without Docker or a panel? No: Agora ships as a container, which is what makes one-click updates possible.

Do I need to provide a PostgreSQL database? With Docker (install.sh), it is created for you. With the panel egg, yes: the egg does not bundle one.

The installation stopped halfway (network cut, disk full): what to do? Run the same command again, it is safe. The only case to handle: an empty /opt/agora/.env, or one without POSTGRES_PASSWORD; the script refuses it (it never overwrites anything) and tells you what to do: if Agora never started, delete the file and run again. Accounts and rights #

Why no password? Every sign-in goes through Discord. Characters are linked through the FiveM license: see Link your game.

Can a member change their email address? It follows Discord at every sign-in. Only an administrator can change it, in Administration → Members.

Does ticking "shows on the Team page" on a role give rights? No. Only the rights ticked in Administration → Roles count.

MDT and tablet #

Where are MDT records stored? In the game database, in tables prefixed agora_.

Does Agora change my ESX, QBCore or Qbox tables? No, except the dealership, which debits the player and delivers the vehicle.

Why can an officer not see the MDT in their browser? Their rank lacks the Use the MDT outside the game permission. It is a setting, not a failure.

911 does not work. It is disabled by default: Administration → Configuration → Agora resource. See Dispatch and 911.

Does the player need to install anything? No. They need Discord linked to FiveM, and to link their game once.

Backups and updates #

Does an Agora backup contain MDT records? No: they are in the game database. Back up both.

What happens if an update fails? Agora backs up the database first, and returns on its own to the previous version if the new one does not start. See Failed update.

What happens if I lose the session secret? Everyone signs in again, and stored secrets (MySQL password, bot token, tablet secret) must be re-entered. Members and the forum are not lost.

License #

What happens at the end of the trial? 14 days of grace, then the MDT locks. The forum stays open, nothing is deleted.

One key for several servers? No: one key, one installation. A second server is a 2nd instance at 50% off.

What if the license server goes down? Nothing happens for days: the signed lease covers your installation, then 14 days of grace. See Without access to the license server.

Misc #

Is the site bilingual? Yes, French and English. Each member picks their language, on the site as in the tablet.

Can I add my own CSS? No, on purpose. The theme offers presets and a free accent colour, with a contrast check.

Is there private messaging between members? No: members talk on Discord. Notifications (reply, mention, application, moderation decision) do exist.

Can I import an old forum? No: the Agora forum starts fresh.
